Bacteriostatic Water Helps, but It Is Not Magic

Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol, which inhibits bacterial growth after the vial is punctured. It helps support multi-use handling, but it does not fix poor technique, dirty needles, warm storage, or repeated temperature swings.

Discard or stop using a mixed vial if you see cloudiness, particles, color change, septum damage, or any sign that sterility may have been compromised.

Storage Habits That Matter

After mixing:

1. Label the vial with product, water amount, concentration, and date.
2. Store it refrigerated at 2 to 8 C when not in use.
3. Keep it upright and protected from light.
4. Minimize time at room temperature.
